U11-1 Northmen Capture 'A' Provincial Championship

In a thrilling showdown on Sunday August 13 at the 2023 Ontario Lacrosse Festival, the Orangeville Northmen U11-1 team emerged victorious, claiming the 'A' Provincial Championship with a 6-3 triumph over the Peterborough Lakers. It was a day filled with passion, precision, and teamwork as the young lacrosse stars showcased their skills on the provincial stage.

The game kicked off with a bang as Luca DeCamellis fired a rocket into the net, courtesy of assists from Zander Alphonso and Desmond Lorenz at 13:54. The Northmen continued to apply pressure, and at 9:27, Desmond Lorenz extended their lead with a goal, assisted by Logan Menard. Geoff Lormand joined the scoring party with a snipe at 3:31, with Chase McGrann and Logan Menard providing the assists. Zander Alphonso made his mark once again at 2:28, with Desmond Lorenz contributing to the goal.

The Northmen carried their momentum into the second period. Ryan Grierson found the back of the net at 1:30, with assists from Bennett Kirk and Geoff Lormand.

With the 'A' Provincial Championship on the line, the Northmen continued to showcase their skill and determination. Zander Alphonso, with help from Desmond Lorenz and Logan Menard, sealed the deal at 12:35 in the third period. The Peterborough Lakers put up a valiant effort throughout the game, with scoring opportunities in each period.

In the end, it was the Orangeville Northmen U11-1 team that emerged victorious, hoisting the 'A' Provincial Championship trophy high in the air. Their exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination paved the way for their triumphant 6-3 victory over the Peterborough Lakers, bringing home the coveted gold medal and etching their names in Ontario Lacrosse history.
